Home improvements
In preparation for renting out my house, I have spent the last couple of days focussing on home improvements, (in addition to continuing to sort books and take them to the op shop, working on final assignment for my subject, and ripping music from my cd’s). My friend, Julie, came over to work her magic and provide some much welcome advice. She suggested getting a couple of fans/light fittings for the back bedroom instead of merely replacing the old light fittings which do not work. Genius!
I am also going to give the skirting boards a lick of paint to freshen things up. The walls merely needed a good scrub with sugar soap, so won't bother painting them. Also found some reasonably priced tab curtains online.
Between heat waves, I have also been working in the garden, removing dead plants which I will replace with hardy ones such as agapanthus and native lilies. Very pleased with the progress. I will post photos when all is completed. Today, while the rest of Australia is sweltering and burning, Melbourne is cold and wet! It is absolutely bucketing down as I write this while everywhere else in Australia is experiencing record heatwave conditions. Tres bizarre!
